Signet Real Estate Group to lead the design phase of the new College of
Business Administration building. I encourage you to take a look at the

Citizens Bank Sponsors Global Management Speaker Series
The Kent State College of Business Administration has partnered with Citizens Bank as the presenting sponsor of the 2018-19 Global Management Speaker Series.
The first of four speaker series events for the year featured Swagelok Chairman and CEO Arthur Anton, who spoke to more than 200 in attendance at the Kent State Hotel and Conference Center. The next GMC event is expected to take place in Cleveland in early 2019.

Center for Information Systems Launches BizTech Talk Series
The Center for Information Systems at Kent State University’s College of Business launched the inaugural BizTech Talk series by welcoming Capellas Partners CEO Michael Capellas, ’76, on Oct. 9. Capellas is a four-time corporate CEO whose career as a global technology leader has spanned from innovative technology start-ups to large corporate turnarounds including Compaq Computer Corporation, HP and First Data Corporation. He discussed “How #DisruptiveTechnology Will Change Your Future.”

Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation Holds Inaugural CEBI Idea Pitch
The Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation (CEBI) at the College of Business Administration partnered with presenting sponsor, the Ohio Innovation Fund, to host the inaugural idea pitch competition, CEBI Idea, which was held Oct. 8.
The event created an opportunity for students to receive mentoring on their business idea and win seed money totaling $2,500. Winning students were Jaynanne Sheehan, first place; Nicole Bitskay, second place; Kathyrn Gray, third place; Lillian Lewis, fourth place and Nick Marstellar, fifth place.
Judges for the competition were Bill Baumel, managing director, Ohio Innovation Fund; Lou Schneeberger, executive chairman, Performex; Arthur Karas, president, C&K Industrial Services, Inc. and Patrick Mullin, retired managing partner, Deloitte & Touche.

Finance Major Appointed to Kent State Board of Trustees
Gov. John Kasich has appointed Nick Kollar, a finance major in the College of Business Administration, to a two-year term as the undergraduate student trustee on the Kent State University Board of Trustees. Kollar’s term concludes on May 6, 2020.

College Welcomes New Faculty Members
The Kent State College of Business Administration welcomed three new faculty members at the start of the 2018-2019 academic year. Meng-Hua Hsieh, Ph.D., Kun (Carl) Liu, Ph.D. and William Billik, Ph.D. joined the college.

Craig Zamary Serves as a Fulbright Specialist in Columbia
Craig Zamary, Kent State College of Business Administration entrepreneurship faculty member, was selected to serve as a Fulbright Specialist in Columbia in summer 2018 by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Zamary traveled to Bucaramanga, Colombia, where he lectured, shared best practices and advised business owners about building a robust entrepreneurship ecosystem in Colombia.
