Airport Academic Building Lobby To Be Named In Honor of Richard “Dick” Schwabe
Many alumni of the aeronautics program learned from and respected Dick Schwabe. To honor his memory and his contributions to our flight program, we intend to name the lobby of the airport academic building after Dick. If you would like to support the Aeronautics Flight Center project, you can do so on line.
If you're making a living as an aviator, it may be thanks to mentors like Al Maurer
Al Maurer caught the flying bug when he was in the Army. When he came back to Kent State to finish his bachelor's degree, he changed his major to aerospace technology. It's also when he met one of the college's most respected instructors, Dick Schwabe, affectionately known as Schwa-bee to his students.
