The Kent Blossom Music Festival, running June 30 through Aug. 4, and Festival Director Ricardo Sepúlveda announce the 51st concert season of Kent State University’s partnership with The Cleveland Orchestra. This year’s festival includes a 5-concert Faculty Series and a 10-concert Young Artists Series, with performances held both in Kent State’s Hugh A. Glauser School of Music’s Ludwig Recital Hall and venues in Hudson and Ravenna. A highlight of the festival includes the internationally celebrated Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio as the Kulas Visiting Artist.
Dr. Herbert Marshall to Join the Music Education Faculty Fall 2019
The Hugh A. Glauser School of Music at Kent State University is pleased to announce that Dr. Herbert Marshall will join the Music Education faculty beginning in the fall 2019 semester. Dr. Marshall comes to Kent State from Baldwin Wallace University, where he is a professor of music education and chair of the professional studies department. He brings a wealth of knowledge in general music education and is an acknowledged expert in the critical field of early childhood music education.
Percussionist Heads to CCM
Texas native Jacob Ottmer (B.M. '19) plans to pursue his Master of Music in Percussion Performance at the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music.
Voice Student Returns to Kent State
Alexis Hill (B.M. '19) plans to return to Kent State in the fall 2019 semester to pursue her M.A. in Ethnomusicology on a full assistantship.
